Quince & co shawl week is here, and I'm happy to share my contribution to the collection: Shimmering Sea Shawl in Piper. This shawl gets its inspiration from the ever-changing colors of the sea and sunshine reflecting on the waves. Working with two strands of Piper and changing colors one strand at a time mimics the flickering of the sea and the subtlety of the sea changing its colour. Solid color stripes are the rays of sunlight, worked with short rows that slightly tilt the asymmetrical triangle shape of the shawl.

Piper is a lovely yarn to work with: 50 % superfine Texas merino, 50 % super kid Texas mohair. It's incredibly soft and easy to knit. This was my first project using Piper, and I have already stashed more for my next project!

  1. Tää on ihan tosi kaunis! Herätti melkoisia lanka- ja neuletarpeita. Mutta jos nyt se Briochangle ensin loppuun.
